Powersludge has released 2 demo versions of songs they say will appear on their forthcoming new release (due Christmas 2008).  No word as of yet what the record will officially be called, but stay tuned and we'll let you know the moment we hear anything at all.  In the meantime check out the new tracks...

U BETTER CUM - Missed by a sliver and it cost me a dime/But if it weren’t worth a nickle I wouldn’t waste my time/Cos it don’t matter where you come from/You just better come/Don’t make a fuss now and don’t make a scene/If you’re coming with us it’s gonna get obscene/Cos it don’t matter where you come from/You just better come/You better, you better come/You better, you better come/It’s not the same old song and dance/If you miss it tonight you’ll never get a chance/Cos it don’t matter where you come from/You just better come/You better, you better come/You better, you better come…

CODEAD KIDZ - See me standing on the edge of a great divide/You pull me closer make me long for the other side/So slow to learn yet so quick to the task/The simple questions are the hardest ones to ask//With great love from above you’ve come said “you’re coded”/When quick learned bared witness you then said “you’re clueless”/How will will be done when we become coded kids?//Finally we’ve reached the edge of this abyss/So shocked that it has finally come to this/A lack of understanding so demanding/It’s hard to see the truth from where you’re standing//With great love from above you’ve come said “you’re coded”/When quick learned bared witness you then said “you’re clueless”/How will will be done when we become coded kids?//-solo- Coded kids/We’re all coded kids…//Now we encounter the greatest generation gap/The place that defines who and where we’re at/Bill Gates be praised the bar’s been raised/But this distance continues gaining pace//With great love from above you’ve come said “you’re coded”/When quick learned bared witness you then said “you’re clueless”/How will will be done when we become/The results that you seek that now seem somewhat weak/You can stand quite tall amongst coded kids/When the box inside your head begins to get too small/You can build a wall out of coded kids/Coded kids…

From the Hangar 56 archives comes a lost track from Powersludge.  The song titled "The Lowdown Gerry Remand Blues," surfaced recently while going through some demo tapes, recorded in the Section A area of Hangar 56.  The blues number was a spontaneous jam and has never since been played by the band, live or otherwise.  It goes to further demonstrate the abilities of this band to work as a cohesive unit.  This was not rehearsed and has never been duplicated.  The sound quality does leave a bit to be desired but this particular song was never meant to heard outside of the Section A recording sessions.  It was a warm-up song meant to get the guys in the band comfortable with their surroundings.  We hope you enjoy this vintage glimpse at the early stages of Powersludge...

L.G.R.B. (Live) - Gerry goes to jail every Friday night/Ain’t got nothing up there baby, got his butt cheeks held tight/He’s scared of losing buddy, scared of losing all he’s ever had/But he’s ready to jam on a Sunday night instead of going to bed/Around on Sunday, when he’s getting out of the pen/He spends a lot of time looking round for what he missed/Up all night baby, maybe up all day too/But that don’t front me around, I got them Lowdown Gerry Remand Blues/Waiting for a TA, can’t get ahold of my PO/Sick of getting up at five o’clock baby to do that fucking welder show/And now I’m wishing Tom would just fuck off and maybe I’d never answer the phone/I tell ya when he comes knocking baby, gonna act like there ain’t nobody home/It’s about time I get done with this bullshit/And it’s about time I get this fucking job, maybe quit/Stay up all night ain’t nobody ever ask for a hand/Cos I got Lowdown Gerry Remand Blues baby and I’m gonna fuck off with a rock and roll band/I wonder if I learned anything from my little trip to night school/I wonder if I learned anything when I’m drunk and can’t do nothing but drool/I wonder if I learned anything when I’m driving past the school/I wonder if I learned anything when I’m back in here with you/Cos I got those Lowdown Gery Remand Blues/You can all fuck off, I’ll see ya soon/Hey, see ya’ll on parole
