NEW 07/13/08 West Stettler Park Event A Success!! Powersludge's performance at West Stettler Park was a success with about 150 people showing up in support. Special guests Tuff Love got the night rolling in rawk, warming up the crowd with a twin guitar combo that cranked the heat on an all ready scorching summer day. Powersludge, in the headline position, finished them off. In typical fashion, Powersludge hammered the crowd with a constant barrage of music, rarely taking a break and only introducing a few of the evening's set list. New guitar slinger Matt Jarmin did a great job on his debut performance and we look forward to hearing more from the boys real soon...

Powersludge Announces New Guitarist.
Powersludge
officially announced today that the new
replacement, for the guitarist position left vacant by Steve Fooks, will be none
other than Matt Jarmin. Matt's work with Last Call, and later with
Electric Indian, makes him an easy fit to sleaze metallers Powersludge.
"We've got together with Matt a few times now and really enjoy hanging out.
He's been picking up the material quite quickly and we are sure that he will add
a lot to the equation," stated frontman Shaman Crowe. Drummer Mike
Gunderman further
commented, "I'm just happy to have a guitar player and look forward to playing
live again real soon... Matt's a good guy and so far we've been making great
progress." Alberta fan's first chance to check out Matt will be July 12,
2008 at West Stettler Park with special guests Tuff Love.

Wookie Walks Out!!
There have been rumours circulating that Steve "The
Wookie" Fooks was leaving the group
Powersludge recently. Not ones to ever take the rumour mill seriously,
pissoffrecords.com decided not to mention these allegations until either proven
or disproven by Powersludge themselves. In a surprise announcement today
those rumours were unfortunatly confirmed; Steve Fooks is no longer Rythmn
Guitarist for Powersludge. When asked to comment on the announcement,
Shaman Crowe stated "numerous calls and attempts to contact Mr. Fooks have left
us no choice but to assume that we are without a guitarist at this point."
There has been little or no contact with Steve since Powersludge's performance
at the Performing Arts Center in Stettler and that has left the group in a race
to fill the vacant spot before this summer's cross Canada tour. "I really
enjoyed making music with Steve," continued Shaman, "but unfortunalty his level
of commitment is not up to the expectations of
Powersludge. I have tried my best to keep him in the band and to try and
talk this out rationally but to no availe. Steve has got to want to have
that conversation in the first place and it's a bullet that he's been ducking
for quite some time. The show must go on with or without him and that's
exactly what we'll do." Steve was unavailable for comment.

Composite High School, Powersludge are looking forward to earning new fans while maintaining their rabid following. When asked why an all ages show, Shaman Crowe stated "it had come to our attention that some children were being kicked out of school for wearing our shirts at a very young age. We decided that it may be possible that we were overlooking the youth with our steadfast regimine of 18 plus shows. We also aproached Darren Fleishhacker at the local High School and decided that it made sense to record at the PAC."

"It gives the community something to participate in and gives Powersludge the opportunity to be caught live at our best." 01/11/08 Powersludge Is Approved Of (And Then Denied) Spot At Kowloon Lounge. In a matter of moments what was confirmed as a performance by Powersludge was defuted by members of Kowloon staff. The appearance by Powersludge for a Valentine's performance was vetoed by Kowloon management earlier tonight. The cost they said was extraordinary and that no one in the area would pay a cover charge to carry over the costs of the event. In the revision of earlier performances, Powersludge had promised to play local gigs regardless of limitations. Now that area club owners have had their way it looks as though local audiences may be lucky to catch their hometown heroes in Red Deer, Calgary or Edmonton. "We wanted to be available for our fans at home, but now it looks like we will only be able to get close to home on our tour, which will include Red Deer," said Shaman Crowe about upcoming appearances by Powersludge. "I just can't believe how much opposition we face at home, all we want is to show people a good time, it's ridiculious." Fans are welcomed to let their views be known to the Stettler Independent or www.pissoffrecords.com.
